The UWI St. Augustine Campus, has officially launched the Artificial Intelligence Innovation Centre, a major milestone for both the university and the Caribbean.
The AIIC will focus on building local AI solutions, guiding ethical development, and driving economic growth beyond traditional sectors.
Minister of Tertiary Education Professor Prakash Persad emphasized the importance of early AI exposure, highlighting that the Government’s recent laptop initiative included AI technologies.
During the inauguration, key announcements included the signing of MoUs with CARICOM IMPACS and the Development Bank.
