TTPS Ensures Safe Carnival “Cool Down” at Maracas Beach with Festive Shield Operation

At Maracas Beach, the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service maintained a strong presence during the Carnival “cool down” under Festive Shield – Operation Secure the Vibes.

Deputy Commissioner of Police and Carnival Gold Commander, Susan Martin, oversaw operations, engaging with officers, Defence Force personnel, and the public.

With over 5,000 attendees, the atmosphere remained safe and orderly, supported by multiple elite units and community safety messaging.

The TTPS says the operation highlights teamwork, planning, and proactive policing ahead of Carnival 2027.

Also in attendance was ACP North Eastern Division, Rishi Singh, who joined the Gold Commander in addressing operational teams.

Their presence and engagement significantly boosted morale and reinforced the Service’s commitment to frontline support.

Senior officers present included: W/Snr Supt Guy-Alleyne, Supt Birch, ASP Martin, ASP Beepot, Inspector Ali, Insp Ramsingh, W/Insp Dickson, and No. 14087 Sgt Nelson.

The operation was further strengthened by the participation of several elite units and divisions, including: C.A.S.U, G.E.B, I.A.T.F, N.E.D Reception Area, N.E.D G.I.U, N.E.D C.I.D, N.E.D T.F, Air Support, Canine Unit, Special Licensing (S.L.), Municipal Police, and N.D.N.T.F.
