Queen’s Hall came alive on Thursday as Trinidad and Tobago marked World Food Day 2025 under the theme “Hand in Hand for Better Food and a Better Future.”
The day began at the Royal Botanic Gardens with a tree-planting ceremony, where an Abiu tree symbolized sustainability and hope for food security.
Students from eight primary schools showcased their projects from the “Little Hands, Big Roots” initiative, sharing poems, artwork, and skits celebrating agriculture and environmental stewardship.
Minister of Agriculture, Senator Ravi Ratiram, urged collective action, saying every seed planted contributes to a stronger, food-secure nation.
The ceremony also featured prize distributions and exhibits highlighting local and international efforts in agriculture, innovation, and community empowerment.
