A tornado has struck north-western Trinidad, damaging several homes in the Westmoorings area.
The T&T Met Service confirmed that a waterspout and a weak tornado occurred around noon today.
It was caused by a low-level trough together with daytime heating, which produced strong isolated thunderstorm activity.
Videos published online showed a small tornado ripping off roofs from several houses, before moving offshore into the Gulf of Paria, where it formed a waterspout.
No injuries have been reported and various bodies were on the ground assessing the damages.
