Iran says it has executed a man accused of spying for Israel.
The man, named as Bahman Choobiasl, is believed to be a top agent for Israel’s spy agency Mossad, with Iranian authorities calling him the agency’s “most important” spy.
AP News reported that the State media claimed he passed sensitive telecom details to Israel.
The hanging comes amid renewed tensions, as UN and EU sanctions were reimposed over Iran’s nuclear program and part of what observers say is Tehran’s largest wave of executions in decades.
