Venezuela’s Defense Minister is warning that Trinidad and Tobago would face a response, if any attack on the country is launched from T&T.
In an Instagram post yesterday, Minister Vladimir Padrino López referenced correspondence, allegedly sent to the US by T&T and Guyana.
He said any aggression would be met with “legitimate defense”, based on sovereignty, international law, and human rights.
This follows a warning last week from Venezuela’s Vice President, Delcy Rodríguez.
Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar responded, saying T&T will do everything necessary to protect itself.
She stressed that there have been no discussions about invading Venezuela or stepping onto its soil.
