The UN has condemned a targeted Israeli attack that killed six journalists in Gaza.
The human rights office called it a “grave breach” of international humanitarian law.
Al Jazeera called it a “targeted assassination” and “yet another blatant and premeditated attack on press freedom”.
Five of the broadcaster’s journalists, including prominent correspondent Anas al-Sharif, were killed in an Israeli airstrike on Sunday night, alongside a sixth freelance journalist.
According to BBC News, Israeli military said it targeted the Al Jazeera journalist because of his suspected association with Hamas.
The journalists were stationed opposite Al-Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza.
