TUCO President Ainsley King has denied allegations that the organization manipulated and interfered with judging results during the Calypso Monarch competition.
Calypso Monarch finalist Tazyah O’Connor claimed he has evidence of manipulated results and has threatened to release the information.
The TUCO president responded with a voice message, calling on O’Connor to release the information.
“Please provide the evidence so that the manifestation of what you are saying could become a reality,” King said.
“What you and most of the members are doing is living in your head. Let’s see how well what you are putting forward will coincide with reality. I dare you to please produce your evidence,” he added.
O’Connor stated in a Facebook post on Monday that he would not compete in the TUCO showpiece competition once Mr King remained the president of the organization.
“I have made up my mind that I will never take part in the Calypso Monarch competition while that man remains president,” O’Connor stated.
“That gentleman made it very clear, on multiple occasions, that if he doesn’t like you, you would never do well or be a part of anything in that organization. That is wrong. Being professional means separating personal vendettas from work,” he added.
O’Connor became the youngest Calypso Monarch at the age of 20 when he won the 2023 competition.
King became TUCO president in 2021 after the death of president Brother Resistance, and was re-elected to the position in August 2023.
