The Trinidad and Tobago Scrap Iron Dealers Association (TTSIDA) says the industry is set to shut down at midnight on Tuesday night.
TTSIDA president Allan Ferguson stated that Scrap Metal Licenses officially expire on Tuesday night and with grind to a halt.
Mr Ferguson is set to deliver an official letter to the Minister of Trade and Industry head office at Nicholas Towers on Wednesday morning at 10:30.
He will then make a statement to the media to outline its position and the urgent concerns of stakeholders within the industry.
TTSIDA vice-president Erros Seejattan, along with representatives from other supporting organizations, will also be present in solidarity.
