The TTPS has officially responded to an online video where an officer has been speaking out against the service over the tardy way his colleagues handled a case where his mother went missing.

The woman was found dead in mysterious circumstances.

The officer, in the video, said he quit the service and was further perturbed by how quickly the officers came to his out to retrieve his uniform.

DCP Suzette Martin says the views and allegations in the videos do not represent the policies, principles, or operational positions of the service.

She says the TTPS has been actively providing welfare assistance and psychological support to him and his family, and that an official police investigation into his mother’s death is ongoing.

However, DCP Marin adds that the unauthorised release of misleading information or speculative commentary into the public has the potential to erode public confidence and interfere with investigation.
