The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service Central Division hosted a trauma counselling session on Sunday for families affected by the Jade Court shooting in Couva.
The session, held from 9 a.m. to noon, involved 17 adults and children, including relatives of one of the deceased.
Officers, alongside the Victim Witness Support Unit and community leaders, provided a safe space for participants to express emotions and learn to identify trauma in children.
Follow-up one-on-one sessions will also be offered. The TTPS says supporting communities extends beyond law enforcement, emphasizing care and engagement in times of crisis.
