Trinidad and Tobago will host the Rugby Americas North (RAN) 7s tournament in November.

The tournament, which will be held in Trinidad for a second straight year, is set for 21-23 November at the Larry Gomes Stadium in Arima.

The RAN 7s will be expanded in 2025 with three days of competition.

“Defending Champions, Canada (Men’s Tier 1) and México (Women’s) return, while the Women’s competition welcomes Bermuda and Guyana to the fold,” a media release from the Trinidad and Tobago Rugby Union stated.

The 2025 tournament features three divisions—the men’s Tier 1 includes eight teams, with six more men’s teams in Tier 2, and six in the women’s bracket.

Trinidad and Tobago men’s team, which finished 2nd last year, is in Tier 1 with the women’s team also set to compete.

“At stake are coveted qualification spots: bracket winners in Men’s Tier 1 and Women’s advance to the global stage as part of World Rugby’s evolved HSBC SVNS model, while the top 3 Men’s Tier 1 Teams (excluding Canada) and top 2 Women’s Teams, secure their place at the 2026 Centro Caribe Games to be held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic,” the TTRU stated.

“The TTRU extends its thanks to Rugby Americas North, The Sports Company of Trinidad & Tobago, its partners, our National Athletes and all Participating Nations, for making this event possible,” the local rugby body stated.

“Rugby fans across Trinidad and Tobago and the region, are invited to join the celebration and show their support.”

Competition opens at 8am daily and tickets are available at the door.
