The Met Service is monitoring an active Tropical Wave in the Central Tropical Atlantic, about 2,300 kilometers east of the Southern Windward Islands.
There are currently no watches or warnings in effect for Trinidad and Tobago.
However, the system has a low chance, 10 to 30%, of developing into a Tropical Cyclone over the next two to seven days.
It is currently moving westward and is expected to pass over the Southern Windwards later this weekend.
Regardless of development, showers and thunderstorms are expected from late Saturday, with heavy rainfall likely across portions of the Southern Windwards this weekend and on Monday across parts of T&T.
