Three persons have been held as police rescued suspected human trafficking victims.
During an exercise in St Helena yesterday, police arrested the three men and rescued eight Spanish speaking females, including two minors.
One pistol, loaded with a magazine containing one round of ammunition, was also seized at the scene.
The Immigration Enforcement Section and the Counter-Trafficking Unit were notified and the male suspects are expected to face charges of Human Trafficking and Possession of Firearm and Ammunition.
