Trinidad Cement Limited has launched its ‘NextGen’ internship programme.
The company says it is an opportunity for aspiring graduates to transform classroom learning into real-world achievements.
“We’re passionate about developing young professionals,” said Human Resources Leader, Khelley Green. “This programme is more than an internship – it is an opportunity for aspiring graduates to transform classroom learning into real-world achievements. Our interns work alongside our experts, tackling projects that add value to TCL while propelling their own career journeys.”

So far four candidates, chosen from UWI’s World of Work Job Fair, completed the 10-week programme.
Interns described the programme as transformative. Accounting Intern, T’kia Furlonge, shared, “I thrived in TCL’s fast-paced environment, deepened my accounting knowledge, and confirmed that this is the career path I want to pursue.” Engineering Interns Chad Singh and Sanjiv Sookoo echoed this sentiment, noting that their time at TCL strengthened not only their technical knowledge but also their skills in communication, time management, and presentation – preparing them for academic and professional success.
Through initiatives like this, TCL is helping to build an innovative, agile, and equipped workforce – driving sustainable progress for Trinidad and Tobago.
