Musical superstars Sting and Shaggy will star together, at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, in Sting’s musical “The Last Ship”.
With original music and lyrics by Sting, the show draws on his childhood in an English shipbuilding community and promises a unique blend of storytelling, music, and collaboration between the two artists.
The Last Ship features Sting’s hits, including “Island of Souls,” “All This Time,” and “When We Dance”, and will be performed by a cast of 48 artists, musicians, and choristers.
According to the Met Opera’s website, the nine New York performances are scheduled from June 9th to 14th, following performances at the Glasshouse Theatre in Brisbane, this April and May.
The musical premiered in Chicago in 2014.
