A Special Reserve Police Constable has been charged with the manslaughter of his colleague, PC Jamal Charles.
22-year-old PC Anton Phillip was charged when he appeared before a Master of the High Court today, and was granted $250,000 bail. His next hearing has been set for January 12th next year.
38 year old PC Charles, who was on duty at the Guard Room on the compound of the Ministry of Rural Development in Maraval, was in the company of two officers.
The offices had their firearms out of their holsters and a loud explosion was heard.
PC Charles was found with a gunshot wound to the left side of his mouth. Subsequently, an arrest was made and PC Phillip was charged on Monday 15th September.Â
