Venezuela’s President Nicolás Maduro says the country is at “maximum preparedness” to respond if attacked by US forces.
Speaking yesterday, he said he would constitutionally declare a “republic in arms” if the US attacked Venezuela.
This comes in the face of maximum military pressure, which he characterized as “an extravagant, unjustifiable, immoral and absolutely criminal and bloody threat.”
The US has not indicated any possibility of an invasion despite the presence of several military vessels and personnel deployed waters off Venezuela’s coast.
