Police arrested 161 persons during the Divali weekend, while firearms, ammunitions, and illegal drugs were seized.

A total of 426 operations took place across all 10 Police Divisions.

Six firearms were seized, along with 176 rounds of ammunition.

Police also seized over 77kg of cannabis and just under 400 grams of cocaine.

The TTPS said the operations were focused on major roadways and were guided by intelligence.

Here are the successes the TTPS reported:

-Six firearm seizures, of which three were rifles,
-176 rounds of assorted ammunition seized,
-77.39 kilogrammes of cannabis seized,
-386.8 grammes of cocaine seized,
-2,881 searches of vehicles and premises,
-282 road traffic operations,
-2,042 road traffic offences detected,
-113 priority offenders targeted, and
-161 persons arrested
