T&T has reaffirmed its support for the US, in its fight against illegal narcotics and firearms trafficking in the southern Caribbean Sea.

The comments came during a call between the US Deputy State Secretary, Christopher Landau and Prime Minister Mrs Kamla Persad-Bissessar yesterday.

The Prime Minister was also commended for her public support of US military action in the region, which came after last week’s lethal strike on a speedboat, allegedly transporting drugs in international waters.

Talks were also held to address the ongoing violent crisis in Haiti, to which both leaders agreed more support was needed.

Mr Landau emphasized the importance of a UN support office in the country..
