Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar has confirmed that all 20,000 job vacancies will be filled on a phased basis.

She made the remarks during a visit to the Recruitment Drive Center at the Couva Cycling Center on earlier today.

The Prime Minister said more than 90,000 people have applied online, highlighting the demand for jobs, and she reiterated the Government’s commitment to creating sustainable, permanent employment.

The Prime Minister added that low and non-skilled workers have been included in the recruitment drive.

Mrs Persad Bissessar added that the Government plans to work with the private sector to create additional employment opportunities.

Meanwhile, Works Minister Jearlean John confirmed the interview process will begin on Monday, following the completion of the recruitment process which will end tomorrow at midnight.
