The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) has recognized Trinidad and Tobago, Grenada, and the British Virgin Islands for their outstanding performance in immunization and disease surveillance.

The announcement came at the 39th Meeting of Caribbean Immunization Managers, hosted in Trinidad and Tobago. Grenada received the award for best surveillance, while T&T earned the prestigious Beryl Irons Immunization Award for notable achievements.

The British Virgin Islands captured the Henry Smith Award for exceptional vaccination coverage.

PAHO officials praised regional managers for sustaining strong immunization systems but warned against complacency amid a resurgence of measles cases across the Americas.

Trinidad and Tobago’s Health Minister, Dr. Lackram Bodoe, commended his team and regional partners for strengthening the country’s vaccination infrastructure.
