The new Board of Directors of the Environmental Management Authority has been officially appointed, with Planning and Economic Affairs Minister Kennedy Swaratsingh urging efficiency and high standards.

Minister Swaratsingh handed instruments of appointment to the Board on Friday, noting that Trinidad and Tobago lost over thirty billion dollars in the past five years due to delays and dissatisfaction with EMA processes.

The reconstituted Board, chaired by Mr. Doolar Ramlal, will review EMA procedures, fee structures, and regulations, while promoting environmental protection, public education, and compliance monitoring.

The Minister stressed the importance of integrity, teamwork, and service to national development.
