35-year-old Jevon Phillips was found dead along Boot Hill, Laventille on Wednesday morning.
Police responded around 9:30AM and discovered his lifeless body with gunshot wounds.
Police reported that Phillips sent his wife a voice note to his common-law wife earlier, saying he was on his way to conduct business.
Reports indicate he was approached by a man shortly before the shooting, who then fired several shots and fled the scene.
 
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a 37-year-old scrap iron dealer, Jason Joseph, died after being shot in Malick, on Wednesday morning.
Police were called to Locust Hill around 10:30AM, where they found Joseph being rushed to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, where he was pronounced dead at 11:00 AM.
According to reports, Joseph and another person were at the location when they saw a man armed with an AR-15.
The suspect fired several shots after a brief exchange, striking Joseph.
