Defense Minister Wayne Sturge has confirmed that a US military aircraft is in Trinidad to repatriate the body of an American soldier who died in St. Clair.
The Minister shared the update with 103.1FM News via WhatsApp earlier today.
The aircraft landed at Piarco International Airport this morning, with social media video showing it taxiing on the runway.
No further details have been released about the soldier’s death.
Meanwhile, two U.S. Navy warships have reportedly been seen en route to Staubles Bay in Chaguaramas, however there has been no official word from U.S. authorities.
