Massy Distribution Trinidad has unveiled a major new logistics facility in Orange Grove, Trinidad and Tobago, introducing what it says is the first Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) in the English-speaking Caribbean.
The purpose-built warehouse spans more than 230,000 square feet and sits on over 15 acres of land. According to the company, the facility is designed to centralise inventory management, optimise stock rotation and significantly accelerate order fulfilment for retail and commercial customers across the region.
The advanced ASRS technology uses high-density pallet racking, automated cranes and precision conveyor systems to manage warehouse operations with minimal manual intervention.
The system is also integrated with weight verification and pick-to-light technology to improve order accuracy and reduce product damage.
Chief Executive Officer of Massy’s Integrated Retail Portfolio, Ambikah Mongroo, described the project as a “game-changer” for regional logistics, saying it will allow the company to deliver faster and more precise service to customers.
Meanwhile, James McLetchie, President and Group CEO of Massy Group, said the investment reflects the company’s commitment to innovation and sustainable economic growth across the Caribbean.
He added that the facility is expected to enhance regional trade efficiency while strengthening Massy’s ability to meet evolving market demands.
