WASA is moving ahead with major upgrades to its water facilities in Northeast Trinidad, aimed at significantly improving the supply to several communities.

The projects include expanding water treatment plants, developing new wells, and installing additional storage tanks in areas such as Guanapo, North Oropouche, Salybia/Matura, Sangre Grande, Cumuto, Coryal, and Guaico Tamana.

Once completed, WASA says the upgrades are expected to benefit over 300,000 residents, with an improved supply reaching as far as Cumuto/Manzanilla, Arima, D’Abadie/O’Meara, Arouca/Maloney, and Lopinot/Bon Air West.

Many communities currently experiencing limited or no water supply are expected to receive at least 24 hours of water three times a week, with some moving to a full 24/7 schedule.
