Carnival sanitation was the focus of a meeting involving Local Government Minister Khadijah Ameen and the NCC’s CEO Keiba Jacob Mottley.
Yesterday, the two discussed a coordinated national approach to sanitation for all Carnival-related activities hosted by NCC.
These focused on major Carnival hubs such as Port of Spain, San Fernando, Chaguanas and Arima, as well as Regional Carnival events taking place within communities across Trinidad.
The Minister also reportedly engaged Public Utilities Minister Barry Padarath, who has responsibility for the Solid Waste Management Company (SWMCOL).
The Ministry says it will collaborate with SWMCOL, leveraging its specialized equipment and technical expertise to support sanitation efforts during the season.
