Minister of Land and Legal Affairs Saddam Hosein says provisions are in place for differently-abled persons applying under the Land for the Landless Programme.
This response came today in the Senate, in response to a question from Independent Senator Alicia Lalite-Ettienne on if the programme includes specific support for persons with disabilities and the eligibility requirements for land allocation.
He explained that applications are assessed using a structured points-based evaluation system.
Minister Hosein also noted that applicants must demonstrate the financial capacity to purchase lots offered at subsidised rates under the programme.
He also clarified the household income requirement for applications for the Land for the Landless Programme.
