In a move to bolster support for women in sport, KFC Trinidad and Tobago has announced a partnership with the Trinidad and Tobago Women’s Cricket Association.

The collaboration aims to provide resources, training, and exposure for female cricketers across the nation.

Speaking at the launch event, representatives from KFC highlighted their commitment to creating opportunities for young women to excel in cricket.

“Our partnership with the TTWCA is not only about funding competitions, it is about standing alongside these athletes in solidarity as champions for change,” said Roger Rambharose, VP, KFC and Pizza Hut, Prestige Holdings.

“Women in sport represent the virtues of strength, resilience and leadership. We will amplify their voices and use cricket as a platform to address critical issues for young women everywhere,” he added.

Azim Bassarath, President of the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board, emphasized the positive impact this support will have on the development of the sport at all levels.

“The continued growth of women’s cricket depends on strong partnerships. KRC’s commitment signals that corporate T&T recognizes the value and potential of our female athletes,” he said.

“This support not only strengthens our domestic competitions, but reinforces the broader movement toward gender equality in sport,” Mr Bassarath added.

The partnership will include sponsorship of local tournaments, provision of equipment, and mentorship programs designed to inspire the next generation of female cricketers.
