The Jamaica Constabulary Force has reiterated its commitment to the full rollout of body-worn cameras, addressing recent media reports and criticism.

In a statement, the JCF said it is actively working to procure an additional 1,000 cameras, but noted the nationwide deployment is a complex, costly process that requires careful planning and sustained funding.

The Force pushed back against claims of resistance to the technology, explaining that limited use reflects budget and logistical challenges, not unwillingness.

JCF also rejected pressure from advocacy groups to dictate operational decisions, while affirming its openness to constructive dialogue.

The Force acknowledged concerns over police-involved fatalities and stressed ongoing efforts to reduce incidents through accountability and investigations
