There will be increased police patrols at San Fernando West Secondary School following a security incident that took place yesterday.

The Education Ministry said in addition to this immediate intervention measure, the Student Support Services Division will facilitate meetings with the students of concern and their parents.

This comes after the school was placed on lockdown yesterday, when a group of suspicious individuals was seen near the compound.

Acting swiftly, the principal initiated emergency protocols, and police arrived shortly after, taking one person into custody, following which students were dismissed following the incident.
