Speaker of the House Jagdeo Singh and PNM MP Colm Imbert clashed during a Standing Finance Committee meeting earlier today in the House of Parliament.
During questions to Minister People, Social Development and Family Services, Vandana Mohit, Finance Minister Davendranath Tancoo interjected to clarify a point on fiscal matters.
However, Mr Imbert insisted Minister Mohit answer the question, and the Speaker of the House intervened.
The session was marked by several testy clashes between PNM and UNC Members of Parliament.
The 2026 Budget was presented in Parliament last Monday, and the Bill was passed on Saturday, after just over a day of debate.
