Guyana’s President Irfaan Ali has ordered an immediate full-scale investigation into the deadly explosion at a Mobil gas station in Georgetown.
Speaking from Saudi Arabia, President Ali said every available resource will be used to determine the cause of the incident.
He also confirmed that an individual of interest has been identified, and the public is being asked to assist police with any information.
According to the Demarara Waves Online, the cause of the blast, which claimed the life of a 8-year-old child and left several others critically injured, was not immediately known, but it occurred near the cooking gas depot in the gas station.
