Guyana’s President Dr Irfaan Ali has announced that most government services will be fully digitized by mid-2026.
During his first post-election press conference, Dr Ali unveiled a plan focused on AI, ICT systems, and cross-agency integration which will be led by a new Chief Technology Officer.
The President says digital tools will improve transparency, efficiency, and public access.
This ranges from birth certificates to border control and the introduction of an online passport portal, which is expected to be launched by the end of this year.
