Several guns were found under a bridge in the Western Division.
During an anti-crime exercise in the area last night, officers searched under the structure along the Maraval River.
They found: a Glock 17 pistol fitted with an extended magazine containing 28 rounds of ammunition; a Taurus G2C pistol fitted with an extended magazine containing 12 rounds of ammunition; and a Pietro Beretta pistol loaded with 28 rounds of ammunition.
80 rounds of other assorted ammunition were also seized.
Meanwhile, during an exercise dubbed Operation Steadfast, officers went to an abandoned structure near Lodge Place in Port of Spain, where they found a brown box wrapped in clear plastic.
That box contained 60 rounds of ammunition.
Operation Steadfast was spearheaded by Senior Superintendent Thom and Superintendent Revanales, along with other supporting officers.
