A 71-year-old Grenadian national drowned yesterday at the Buccoo Reef Marine Park, while a British national was injured.
According to reports, Neal Morris fell from a reef tour boat and got into difficulty in the water, while his British friend jumped in to help rescue him, but suffered injuries.
The Office of the Chief Secretary said medical care is being provided to the injured individual who is stable and expected to make a full recovery.
It also said that Chief Secretary Farley Augustine is in active discussion with Consular Officer for Grenada to contact the deceased’s next of kin and provide necessary support.
In a separate incident, a foreign national was involved in a shooting at Store Bay and has since been apprehended by officers.
In a third matter, police are investigating a report of a body being washed ashore in Bacolet with a reported single gunshot wound to the head.
