Government is looking at further development of the Land for the Landless programme, following the receipt of over 10,000 applications.
This was revealed during yesterday’s post cabinet briefing by Land and Legal Affairs Minister Saddam Hosein.
During this time he also reminded that while the land under this initiative is heavily subsidized, it is not free.
The Land for the Landless programme was relaunched in January 2026, with online applications starting on February 23rd, 2026.
