Former Public Utilities Minister Marvin Gonzales is criticising what he describes as “an obscene display of financial wastage…” by TSTT, for a 3-day executive retreat.
In a statement, he said the reported expenditure comes at a time when thousands of families face financial strains due to rising taxes, traffic fines and other newly introduced Government charges.
He also raised concerns about the reported removal of sponsorships for several small steelbands, saying the move has placed additional pressure on cultural groups that rely on support.
Mr Gonzales further alleged that artistes have faced censorship and that Opposition voices have been restricted in Parliament when raising concerns about economic conditions and government policies.
