The price of gold has hit a record high, now at US$3,508.50 per ounce, as its demand remains strong amid global economic uncertainty.

According to BBC News, analysts say the price has been lifted by expectations that the US central bank will cut its key interest rate.

Since the beginning of the year, the precious metal has seen a rise by nearly a third, continuing its upwards trend.

Long regarded as a dependable hedge against geopolitical and economic turmoil, gold has rallied to multiple record highs in 2025.
