The funeral service for the late Independent Senator DeoroopTeemal was held this morning at the NCIC Nagar compound in Chaguanas.
Several dignitaries were among those in attendance, along with his family, friends and colleagues.
Senate President Wade Mark was among the speakers at the funeral.
Opposition Senator Dr. Amery Browne also offered a tribute, describing Mr. Teemal’s calm demeanor in the Senate as inspiring.
The funeral is continuing at this time, with the rites being conducted now at the Caroni Cremation site.
