Former principal of Naparima College, Dr Allan McKenzie has died. He was 93.
McKenzie led Naparima College from 1966 to 1993 and oversaw the transformation of the school into one of the leading secondary institutions in Trinidad and Tobago.
A statement from the college described him as a legend of the institution, whose command of the English language and principled leadership shaped generations of young men.
Education Minister Dr Michael Dowlath, a former Naparima student and principal, said McKenzie’s influence left an indelible mark on Trinidad and Tobago’s educational landscape.
The school’s science block was named in his honor in 2023.
