New Year’s Day began with multiple arrests and the seizure of firearms during anti-crime operations.
On December 31st, between 6PM and 10PM, five men, aged 26 to 45, were arrested in connection with the discovery two pistols and ammunition in Cashew Gardens.
In a separate operation at 12:15 am on January 1st, 2026, officers with the Inter-Agency Task Force seized an AR-15 rifle and ammunition in Morvant, however, the suspect fled the scene.
