The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) has arrested five individuals following a ten-day intensive initiative targeting crimes against vulnerable citizens.

Dubbed “Operation Beacon,” the exercise was led by the Special Victims Department and ran from December 19 to December 29, 2025, across multiple police divisions.

According to the TTPS, four of the five persons arrested have been formally charged with a total of ten offenses.

The charges are serious in nature, comprising eight counts of sexual penetration, one count of causing a child to engage in sexual activity, one count of assault by beating, and one count of sexual touching.

The operation spanned both islands with significant results. In Region I (Port of Spain, North Eastern, and Western Divisions), one suspect was charged with multiple sexual penetration offenses.

In the South and South Western Divisions, two suspects were charged for matters involving sexual offenses against minors.

Meanwhile, in Tobago, police arrested two suspects; one was charged with assault, while investigations continue into a separate allegation of sexual touching.

Spearheaded by Deputy Commissioner Natasha George, the operation highlights the department’s ongoing effort to safeguard vulnerable members of society.
