A fisherman in Felicity say recent US military strikes on suspected drug-smuggling boats near Venezuela have left them fearful of going out to sea.
One fisherman, known as ‘Melo,’ told 103.1FM News they have even heard what they believe are drones hovering overhead and worry they could be mistaken for smugglers.
‘Melo’ said the increased military activity has disrupted their trade during prime fishing season, but there’s a silver lining: pirates from Venezuela have seemingly vanished.
The US have attacked at least four vessels in the Caribbean in recent weeks, killing 21 people.
