The Food and Agriculture Organization and its regional partners have launched a new roadmap to 2030 to help empower rural women’s rights across Latin America and the Caribbean.

The plan, agreed at a major forum in Panama City, focuses on boosting women’s roles in farming, leadership, and community development.

It also sets the stage for future projects leading up to the International Year of the Woman Farmer in 2026.

FAO says the goal is to build fairer, stronger, and more sustainable food systems — with rural women at the heart of the change.
