Senator the Honourable Dr. Kennedy Swaratsingh, Minister of Planning, Economic Affairs and Development officially congratulates the EMA team on the accreditation to the GCF.

The Environmental Management Authority has achieved a major milestone — becoming Trinidad and Tobago’s first Direct Access Entity to the Green Climate Fund.

The accreditation, approved by the GCF Board on October 28th, gives the EMA direct access to up to 50 million US dollars for climate adaptation and mitigation projects.

Minister of Planning Dr. Kennedy Swaratsingh hailed the achievement as a testament to the EMA’s strong governance and commitment to environmental sustainability.

EMA Managing Director Hayden Romano says the Authority will soon begin developing project proposals focused on resilience, gender equity, and community inclusion.

This accreditation positions Trinidad and Tobago to lead regional climate action and access vital international funding directly.
