Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Aiyna Ali, made history today in Trinidad and Tobago’s Parliament.
She became the first hijab-wearing Muslim woman to preside from the Speaker’s Chair, a milestone hailed as a breakthrough for diversity, inclusion, and women’s representation in national leadership.
Dr. Ali’s currently serves as the Member of Parliament for Princes Town, following her victory in the April 28th General Election.
