The Pt. Lisas Desalination Plant will be shut down for maintenance for most of next week.

From Monday 18th to Saturday 24th, there will be 40 million gallons of water less to supply areas, mostly in Central and South Trinidad.

Some affected areas will include: Caroni, St. Helena, Charlieville, Chaguanas, Cunupia, Carapichaima, Couva, Claxton Bay, Marabella, Gasparillo, San Fernando, Cocoyea, Union Hall, La Romaine, Woodland, Palmiste, Phillipine, Rambert Village, South Oropouche, Fyzabad, Avocat, Siparia, Penal, San Francique, Rousillac, Aripero and La Brea.

WASA says it will redistribute water from the Caroni and Navet plants to help supply the affected areas, and adjust supply schedules during the period.

More trucks will be distributing water, with special emphasis on health institutions, home for the aged and other special needs organizations.

WASA is also advising customers to store water during the Descalcott shutdown, and manage their water use efficiently.

Customers can request a truck-borne supply through WASA’s online customer portal, or call 800-4420/4426.
