Chief Personnel Officer Dr. Darryl Dindial says government’s offer to daily-rated workers is valued at $2.6 billion, with an additional $250 million required to fund it annually.
Speaking after meeting with the NUGFW yesterday, he said settling arrears will require a mix of cash and non-cash options.
Dr. Dindial is hopeful the NUGFW will accept the offer, after which the union will consult with its members and respond.
If approved, the new salary adjustments would take effect after the mid-year review, as they were not included in this year’s budget.
Meanwhile, NUGFW President General, Christopher Streete, says they are “fairly satisfied” with the $2.6 billion offer.
He adds that the Union will revisit and examine the offer before accepting the full package.
